I don't like that site's logic: "Basically, if it’s good enough for the military or even Hollywood, then it’s better for AirSofters."

It could be the best gun the military can afford and hollywood could make up and still be a peice of crap airsoft gun. Different manufacuturers make different quality of guns. Personally I wouldn't trust that site because you can't tell who made the gun and they focus more on how it looks or if it was used in a movie more than how good it actually is.

For backyard wars, pistols are excellent choices. I would recomend a UHC 1911, many of the guys in our airsoft group who use pistols have one of these, and I can assure you they are of good quality and preformance. The only problem is the mags release a little too easy but other than that it's great, and they're relatively cheap.

thank you, could you post the site wher you got yours or others or even what store? It's a spring gun right? The rest of the guys do and i think it would be unfair if i don't use one.

Yeah, is a springer. Using a gas pistol against spring pistols would be a massacre. Here's one place you can get it: http://www.airsplat.com/Items/AP-UA-961S.htm

If you look on EBay you can sometimes find a two for one deal for $10 or so.

No, this is a good one, it's the one I was talking about before that most of the guys in the association I play with use as a sidearm going against spring rifles and low-power electric guns. Even though this guy has a sniper rifle, he sometimes goes out with only his 1911 just for the heck of it and he still does well.
