I agree, you should always take extreme caution. One of my friends promissed me that his gun wasn't loaded, but there was still a BB in the chamber and I got shot right in the face. Luckily it only grazed my cheek (I had a cut all they way along my face - it looked like I got into a knife fight) so I wasn't really hurt. But if it had hit me only 2 inches to the side I would only have 1 eye right now...
Even though his gun was supposedly empty, there were still other loaded guns around. If I was wearing my goggles, I wouldn't have taken that risk of losing an eye.
