Default Good Project Gbbs?

A buddy of mine is looking for a GBB that is under 200 dollars, but something that he can use for a while and upgrade over time. Anyone have any good suggestions for a project gun?

Thanks.

most good gbb's run under $200, but every once in a while you cang et up past 300 for brands like western arms.

Good suggestions above already.

You may also want to check out which parts are easily found in your area. That should contribute to a large percentage of your decision.

If you would go for brand, TM is good out of the box and may have to do some right combination of parts to get the upgraded ones optimized. You can also go for a WA, which is kind out of the box, but VERY nasty when upgraded.

Here is a link of the guns we've modified to all metal and some we've retained as plastic.

I use my plastic guns (TM) as my front liners and work my way through the final minutes of the game with the WA's. The reason for such is that the TMs run on 134a, taking it easy on the stock guns. Then I use Top gas for the WAs, which I cherish each shot coming from them.

Top gas is a bit stronger than 134a. They're effective on all plastic pistols during winter, and GBBs with metal slide during warm conditions.

- 134a (freon)
- Top Gas (propane)
- Green Gas (propane)
- Red Gas (propane)

Cheers!

I also got the chance to try R22 / R12 freon in place of the 134a. It has a slower "cooling effect" and more consistent bursts. It is generally better than 134a, just manually add the silicon oil to the mag.

The problem with this... it is being taken out of market due to the stronger effects it has against the ozone layer compared to 134a.

Not yet about blue gas though...
